Tuto marque-page tissu / Fabric bookmark tutorial

Ah, les vacances, les livres qu'on a pas eu le temps de lire pendant l'année et qu'on dévore au bord de la plage ou de la piscine profitant de l'ombre d'un parasol ... Zut, j'ai oublié mon marque-page à la maison. Vous aussi ? Allez je vous montre comment vous fabriquer des marques-pages que vous serez fiers de montrer et que vous n'oublierez plus !







Etape 1 : Coupez deux bandes de tissus par marque page (ici 7 x 22 cm), et une bande de carton fin (ici 5 x 20 cm). Il vaut mieux utiliser du coton un peu épais, éventuellement un tissu d'ameublement. Astuce, si votre carton est vraiment fin, ajoutez une deuxième bande pour plus de rigidité.





 

Etape 2 : Couser les deux bandes endroit contre endroit, sur trois côtés, gardant un petit côté ouvert pour retourner le marque-page. Cranter les angles et les côtés. Retourner.








Etape 3 : Insérer le carton, puis plier le haut du marque-page, et surpiquer tout autour du tissu, à travers le carton. Coudre lentement. C'est fait !

Etape 4 : Pour ajouter une touche de glamour aux marques-pages destinés à des filles, j'ai ajouté un oeillet en métal, dans lequel j'ai noué un ruban.

On peut imaginer de faire la même chose en patchwork, pour utiliser des chutes de tissu !

Ah, holidays, the books that we didn't get anytime to read during the year, and that we devour on the beach or near the pool, benefitting of the shadow provided by a parasol ... Gosh, I've forgotten my bookmark at home. You too ? So I'm gonna show you how to create your own bookmarks, that you will be proud to show, and that you won't forget anymore !

Step #1 : Cut two strips of fabric for each book mark (here about 3 per 9 inches) and a cardboard strip (here about 2 per 8 inches). It should be better to use thick cotton, such as upholstery. A little tip, if your cardboard is really thin, take a second strip for more rigidity.

Step #2 : Sew the two fabric strips wrong side out, on three sides, keeping a little site open to return the bookmark. Notch the sides and the corners. Turn the fabric inside out.

Step #3 : Insert the cardboard, then fold the top of the bookmark, and topstitch all around the fabric, through the cardboard. You should sew slowly ! You're all set

Step #4 : To add a glamourous touch to the bookmarks that I will offer to girls, I added a metal eyelet, thanks to who I attached a ribbon.

One can imagine doing the same thing with scraps !
