Cravate enfant / Child's tie

Avec une équipe de filles à la maison, je ne m'étais jamais penchée sur les accessoires pour petit garçon. Mais dans deux semaines, nous allons fêter un mariage, celui de mon beau-frère. Bon ok, il n'y aura pas de cérémonie, puisque le mariage a déjà été célébré, ni de tralala, mais j'ai quand même envie de pouvoir marquer le coup en habillant ses quatre nièces et son neveu de manière coordonnée, pour prendre de belles photos.

Pour ma nièce, pas de soucis, je lui ai cousu vite fait un tablier croisé dans le dos comme à mes filles, et elles mettront une jupe blanche dessous. Par contre, pour mon neveu, j'hésitais un peu. Mon mari était pour un gilet, mais je voyais mal ce petit mec de trois ans avec un gilet fleuri. Alors, j'ai opté pour la cravate, accessoire classique et simple à faire, une fois que j'ai trouvé un bon tuto !



Le tuto qui m'a attirée a été celui fait par Sharing the wealth, et les explications étaient si claires que je n'ai eu aucun problème à les suivre, à part pour la taille. L'auteur précise que le modèle présenté convient pour un enfant de 1 an et demi à 2 ans. Je n'avais pas la moindre idée de combien je devais augmenter le patron pour l'adapter à un enfant de 3 ans. Donc j'ai fait une première version en suivant le patron, puis une deuxième version en l'augmentant d'environ 7 cm. Ça a l'air d'être convenable (j'ai fait un essai sur ma fille de 4 ans).
Pour fermer la cravate, j'ai ajouté un bouton pression.

With a feminine team at home, I had never taken time to look at accessories for little boys. But in two weeks, we are going to celebrate my brother-in-law's wedding. All right, there would be no ceremony, as the wedding has already been celebrated abroad, and nothing really official, but I still wanted to spice things up by wearing all his four nieces and his nephew with matching clothes, to take nice pictures.

For my niece, no problem, I just made an another tablier, as the one I made for my daugthers earlier in the summer and they will wear a white skirt underneath. But for my nephew, I hesitated a bit. My husband suggested a vest, but I couldn't imagine this three-years-old guy wearing flowers on a vest... So I opted for a tie, a classical and easy to make accessorie, as soon as I found a great tutorial !

The one that attracted me was made by Sharing the wealth and it was so well explained, that I didn't have any problem following it, except for the size. The author clearly precized that the presented pattern was for a 1 an a half or 2 years old guy. I didn't know at all how much I should increase the size for a 3 years-old size. So I did a first version following the pattern, then I increased it for almost 3 inches and it seems to fit well (I tried it on my 4 years-old princess).
To close up the tie, I added a press turd.
